The Legal Launch Pad
The Legal Launch Pad programme application process is now closed for 2017. Thank you and good luck to all applicants. You will hear the result of your application by the 30th November.
Our mission is to support young people from ethnic minority and/or socio-economically underprivileged backgrounds towards achieving their fullest potential. We do this by providing them with knowledge and information about the opportunities available in the legal profession, equipping them with the skills to take advantage of these opportunities, and providing them with access to work placements and recruitment opportunities in leading firms and chambers nationally.
Our flagship Legal Gateway Scheme has four distinct programmes catering to the needs of different groups of young people at different stages in their personal and academic development: Today’s Children, Tomorrow’s Lawyers (TCTL), First Headstart (FH), the Legal Launch Pad Programme (LLP) and Make a Difference Be the Difference (MDBD). For more information see our Programmes.
“We are delighted to be working with BLD on the Today’s Children Tomorrow’s Lawyers programme. We said at the launch that, if we want our future to be in the hands of bright resourceful adults, we need to encourage bright resourceful children to be ambitious and to succeed. TCTL gives us a chance to offer that encouragement, provide information and refresh our own ideas”.

”The LLP Programme has been without doubt the most privileged experience of my life! Without the skills, values and unique opportunities given to me on the programme, I would not have the confidence in my ability to succeed with my legal career that I now have”.
Ricky Handa – BLD Foundation LLP participant 2009.
“We really enjoyed meeting the students and were impressed by their enthusiasm and desire to learn more about a career in law. The TCTL programme is an important initiative for the diversity agenda as it not only reaches out to these students but also has been a rewarding learning experience for us.”
